At Trafalgar High School, VCE and Vocational programs are carefully planned each year considering the latest information regarding possible career and tertiary education options. Senior school students are provided with a range of programs to guide them in their career choices including pathways days and managed individual pathways programs. During one-on-one counselling sessions, student’s strengths, interests, and aspirations are assessed, enabling counsellors to offer tailored recommendations that align with their goals. Our careers staff stay up to date with the latest educational trends and requirements, ensuring that students receive accurate and relevant information to make well-informed choices.

At Trafalgar High School, most students undertake 2 units of VCE in Year 10, 12 units in Year 11 and 10 units in Year 12, with opportunities to study across year levels (i.e. A Year 11 student undertaking a Year 12 subject where timetabling allows). Applied Learning opportunities are available from Year 10, in collaboration with TAFE. Also, the VCE Vocational Major (VM) has been introduced into Year 11 and 12, preparing students to move successfully into apprenticeships, traineeships, further education and training, university through alternative entry programs or directly into the workforce.
